Res 061-83 3/15/1983RESOLUTION NO. o/ RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING TO THE U.S . ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS THAT THE SPILLWAY CREST ELEVATION AT LAKE WICHITA BE ESTABLISHED AT 976 FEET. WHEREAS , the results of an Alternative Lake Level Study, which was performed by the U .S . Army Corps of Engineers, was considered at a public meeting by the Wichita Falls Flood Control Task Force; and, WHEREAS, this public meeting was attended by many members of the public, including owners of Lake Shore properties, residents of Lakeside City, the mayor of Lakeside City, and many other interested parties; and, WHEREAS, after a presentation of the study was made by a representative of the Corps of Engineers, the opportunity to speak about the matter was offered to members of the audience, and several of those present, including the mayor of Lakeside City, spoke; and, WHEREAS, thereafter the study was discussed by members of the Flood Control Task Force, after which a motion was made and carried by such Task Force that the recommendation be made to the Wichita Falls Board of Aldermen that the spillway crest elevation at Lake Wichita be retained at elevation 976 feet as recommended in the Corps of Engineers Survey Report . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS , THAT: 4; After considering the Alternative Lake Level Study by the Corps of Engineers , and the recommendation made by the Wichita Falls Flood Control Task Force, the Board of Aldermen determines that the spillway crest elevation at Lake Wichita should be retained at 976 feet as recommended in the Corps of Engineers Survey Report, and it is recommended to the Corps of Engineers that such spillway crest elevation be established at 976 feet .
