ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTION 22-1 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES AND ORDINANCE NO. 3363 (CODIFIED AS
SECTION 22-4 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES) TO
ALLOW SALE, POSSESSION AND CONSUMPTION OF BEER
IN LUCY PARK AT RED RIVER CHILI CHAMPIONSHIP
ON OCTOBER 3 , 1981.
WHEREAS , the Board of Commerce and Industry is sponsoring
the Tenth Annual Red River Chili Championship (formerly the
Pioneer Bowl Chili Pow-Wow) at Lucy Park on Saturday, October 3 ,
1981 , and the Board of Commerce and Industry has requested
permission for beer to be sold at such tournament; and,
WHEREAS , the Board of Aldermen find that the circumstances
involved in this situation are exceptional, and that a waiver
of Section 22-1 of the Code of Ordinances and Ordinance
No. 3363 (now codified as Section 22-4 of the Code of Ordinances)
should be granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS, THAT:
The requirements of Section 22-1 of the Code of Ordinances
and of Ordinance No. 3363 (now codified as Section 22-4 of the
Code of Ordinances) are hereby waived to allow the sale,
possession and consumption of beer at such Red River Chili
Championship in Lucy Park on Saturday, October 3 , 1981.
