ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTION 22-1, SUBSECTION (a)
(9) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ALLOW
ADVERTISING SIGNS AT HAMILTON PARK TENNIS
CENTER DURING PENN-LITE TENNIS TOURNAMENT.
WHEREAS, Section 22-1, Subsection (a) (9) prohibits signs
in parks; and,
WHEREAS, a request has been made to post commercial
advertising signs at Hamilton Park Tennis Center in conjunction
with the Penn-Lite Tennis Tournament, on September 19-27 , 1981;
and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen find that the circumstances
involved in this situation are exceptional, and that a waiver
of such ordinance should be granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS , THAT:
The requirements of Section 22-1 , Subsection (a) (9) of
the Code of Ordinances are hereby waived to allow the Wichita
Falls Tennis Association to hang an advertising banner and
posters at the Hamilton Park Tennis Center while such Penn-Lite
Tennis Tournament is being conducted on September 19-27 , 1981.
