t f ORDINANCE NO W ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 32-20 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, ESTABLISHING WATER RATES TO BE COLLECTED BY THE WATER DEPART- MENT OF THE CITY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: Section 32-20 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 32-20. Rates. The following rates are hereby established and shall hereafter be collected by the Finance Department of the City The following water rates shall apply to all water users, residential, commercial and industrial, with the exception of contract water users and with the exception that service outside the corporate limits shall be two times the rate charged inside the corporate limits based upon the following computation: The minimum monthly bill for all metered water service shall be $2 . 96 for which amount each customer will be allowed 200 cubic feet of water. For larger consumption the rate shall be as follows: The next 800 cubic feet of water at $. 72 per hundred; The next 3 , 000 cubic feet of water at $ . 62 per hundred; The next 2 , 800 cubic feet of water at $ . 56 per hundred; The next 60, 000 cubic feet of water at $. 53 per hundred; In excess of 66 , 800 cubic feet of water at $ . 51 per hundred; In addition to the charge for water consumed based on the above rates, any water user who has a meter larger than a 5/8 inch meter shall pay each month a readiness-to-serve charge, according to the size of his meter, as follows: 3/4" meter - - $ 2 . 00 1" meter - - 4 . 35 1 1/2" meter - - 11. 80 1 ♦ T • 2" meter - - $ 20. 65 2 1/2 " meter - - 30. 50 3" meter - - 41. 30 4" meter - - 65. 90 6" meter - - 144 . 55 8" meter - - 233. 05 Water users located outside the city limits shall pay twice the rate as above described, and the minimum charge for such service shall be $5. 92 per month; in addition, if such a user has a meter larger than a 5/8 inch meter, his readiness-to-serve charge shall be twice the amount shown above. " The above schedule of rates shall be effective on all water bills rendered after the 31st day of October, 1981 . The fact that additional revenue is needed in the Public Utilities Department during the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1981 in order to meet the costs of providing the service levels to be performed and to meet the debt service obligations creates an emergency; this ordinance is declared an emergency measure and shall be effective upon its passage.
