Ord 3850 12/1/1981 ORDINANCE NO. 15` 1% AN ORDINANCE SUSPENDING THE ENFORCEMENT OF PARKING METERS ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 18, 1981, FROM 1:00 O'CLOCK TO 6:00 O'CLOCK IN ORDER TO PERMIT DOWNTOWN ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE PIONEER BOWL PARADE. WHEREAS, the Downtown Association and the Pioneer Bowl Committee have requested that the enforcement of parking meters be suspended in the downtown area. on Friday, December 18, 1981, between the hours of 1:00 o'clock and 6:00 o'clock p.m., in order to permit them to advertise to the public that parking will be free for the Pioneer Bowl Christmas Parade; and, WHEREAS, parking meter enforcement would be extremely difficult during the parade; and, WHEREAS, the Pioneer Bowl Christmas Parade is considered to be a civil endeavor bringing beneficial publicity to the City of Wichita Falls. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. Parking meter enforcement will be suspended on Friday, December 18, 1981, between the hours of 1:00 o'clock and 6:00 o'clock p.m. in order to permit free public parking in the downtown area during the Pioneer Bowl Christmas Parade. SECTION 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency and shall be effective upon its passage.
