ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE SPECIAL
REVENUE FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $214,863 FOR THE PUBLIC
HEALTH PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE FOR BIOTERRORISM
GRANT RECEIVED FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
ACCEPTING SAME; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN
TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, funding for public health emergency preparedness and response to
bioterrorism is available from the Texas Department of Health; and
WHEREAS, beyond bioterrorism, the funds are intended to strengthen the local
public health response to other outbreaks of infectious disease and other public health
threats and emergencies; and
WHEREAS, Whereas the City of Wichita Falls wishes to accept this funding for
emergency preparation on behalf of the Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health
District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated in the Special Revenue Fund
$214,863 for public health preparedness and response to bioterrorism, other outbreaks
of infectious disease, and other public health threats and emergencies.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
