ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE COLISEUM
CONSTRUCTION FUND FOR ADDITIONAL PRIVATE
CONTRIBUTIONS; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING
AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE
PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City Council approved a funding plan for the MPEC Coliseum
Construction Project on March 23, 2001; and
WHEREAS, the City has received confirmation that private contributions will be
made to the project above the amount originally budgeted; and
WHEREAS, the amount of interest earnings on the fund balance in the Coliseum
Construction Fund is expected to exceed originally budgeted amounts; and
WHEREAS, there is a need to appropriate these additional revenues to the
budget for the Construction of the Coliseum for various equipment and furnishings that
were not part of the original budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The Coliseum Construction Fund Budget is hereby amended in the
following manner:
(1) increase private contributions by $841,910, (2) increase interest earnings by
$86,709 and (3) reduce the General Fund Appropriation by $165,783. These
amendments bring the total budgeted amount for the project to $20,446,034.
SECTION 2. These additional funds are to be used to purchase various pieces
of equipment and furnishings that were not a part of the original budgeted amount such
as ice resurfacing equipment, portable basketball floor, basketball goals, homosote ice
covering, spot lights, ticketing system, tradeshow electrical equipment, dasher boards,
scoreboard, staging, tables and chairs and other furnishings.

SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
