Res 222-84 11/20/1984RESOLUTION NO. cat/oa--a `f' RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH FOR THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TEXAS FLUORIDATION PROJECT BY ACQUIRING FEDERALLY FUNDED EQUIPMENT TO FACILITATE FLUORIDATION OF WATER WHEREAS, the State of Texas conducts a project entitled "Texas Fluoridation Project" which provides financial and technical assistance to enable communities to fluoridate their water systems to prevent dental diseases; WHEREAS, the City Council has previously approved participation by the City of Wichita Falls in this project to support financing of certain lab equipment and repair of certain fluoride feed equipment; WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Health has submitted a proposed intergovernmental agreement to be executed between the Department of Health and the City of Wichita Falls outlining the conditions of the grant being sought by the City; and, WHEREAS, the Council has examined said intergovernmental agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: The proposed intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Wichita Falls and Texas Department of Health for the purpose of the City participation in the Texas Fluoridation Project is approved, and the City Manager is authorized to execute the same for the City of Wichita Falls.
