RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID FOR TRACT AT 1219 GLADIOLUS ,
ACQUIRED BY CITY AT TAX SALE.
WHEREAS, the City heretofore purchased at a tax sale, for itself
and as trustee for other taxing agencies , the following tract of
land in Wichita Falls :
Lot 23 , Block 1, Rivers Addition to the City
of Wichita Falls, also known as 1219 Gladiolus .
WHEREAS , the City has advertised for bids to purchase such
tracts; and,
WHEREAS, two bids were received, the bid of Charles Peters in
the amount of $1, 511.14 , and the bid of the Church of the Living
God in the amount of $1 , 500 . 00; the bid of Peters was heretofore
accepted, but he declined to go through with the purchase because
his title company would not write a title policy. The Church of
the Living God has indicated that it will purchase the tract if their
bid is accepted, and they are allowed to use the property for a
church parking lot.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS, THAT:
The bid of Charles Peters is hereby rejected; the bid of the
Church of the Living God is hereby accepted, and the Mayor is hereby
authorized to join with the officers of the other taxing units in
executing a deed to such purchaser. Further, the purchasers may
use the tract for a church parking lot as well as a single family
residence .
