RESOLUTION TO AWARD BID FOR LIQUID
CARBON DIOXIDE EQUIPMENT AND CHEMICAL
TO TREAT WATER IN CITY TREATMENT PLANTS
WHEREAS, the City currently uses a chemical sodium hexametaphosphate
to restabilize its treated water after the water is softened;
WHEREAS, it is advantageous to our customers for the water to
be restabilized using a recarbonation process;
WHEREAS, the City has advertised for bids for the equipment and
chemical necessary to begin using a recarbonation process; and,
WHEREAS, the Council has examined the bids for this purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is authorized to accept the bid of Liquid
Carbonic Corporation of Houston, Texas, for the City of Wichita Falls
Bid No. 84-75. This bid shall include the leasing of the two storage
tanks with the provision of the two vaporizers during the lease period.
The accepted bid price is $34,659.58 for the equipment necessary to install
the recarbonation system. The City Manager is also authorized to accept the
bid of Liquid Carbonic Corporation for the provision of the annual requirement
for the carbon dioxide chemical in the amount of 560 tons for a total price
of $37,800.00.
