RESOLUTION TO APPROVE EXPENDITURE OF WATER
AND SEWER FUNDS TO RELOCATE A SEWER LIFT
STATION AT THE NEW SHERATON HOTEL AND TO
PAY THE OVERSIZE COST ON THE LIFT STATION
CAPACITY
WHEREAS, a developer is constructing the Sheraton Hotel
in the Scotland Garden addition and will require a sanitary sewer
lift station in order to serve the facility;
WHEREAS, some additional capacity beyond that required by
the Sheraton Hotel is being built into the lift station;
WHEREAS, there is other land in the vicinity of the Sheraton
Hotel which will require sewer service in the future;
WHEREAS, the location of the Sanitary Lift Station to serve
the Sheraton Hotel will not facilitate serving other development within
the area in the future;
WHEREAS, the Consulting Engineer for the Sheraton Hotel has
provided a list of the additional cost to be incurred if the lift station
is relocated to a position where it can serve other development in the
future; and
WHEREAS, the Council believes that it is prudent from a land
management standpoint to expend funds at this time to relocate the sewer
lift station thereby providing for the future orderly development of vacant
land.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is authorized to expend $14,596.00 to participate
in the relocation of the lift station. The City Manager is also authorized
to expend $2,000.00 toward the additional capacity which was designed into
the lift station.
