RESOLUTION TG AUTHORIZE CONTINUATION OF THE
CYPRESS STREET WATER TREATMENT PLANT EXPANSION
AND TO APPROVE ENGINEERING FEES FOR THE PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls entered into a contract
on March 26, 1984, with the engineering firm of Biggs and Mathews, Inc. ,
for the performance of engineering services related to the expansion of
the Cypress Street Water Treatment Plant;
WHEREAS, Phase I of that contract required a preliminary
engineering report to define the work to be accomplished and the associated
cost, and this report has been completed and submitted to the City;
WHEREAS, the contract requires a notification to proceed to
be given to the engineer before additional engineering work can be
accomplished;
WHEREAS, the contract also requires that at the conclusion of
Phase I and prior to entering subsequent phases, the City and engineer
shall agree on the compensation for the total project; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to continue this project as
expeditiously as possible.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The work outlined in the Preliminary Engineering Report dated
May 25, 1984, is approved, and the engineer is authorized to proceed with
Phases II and III under the provisions of the contract with the City of
Wichita Falls. In accordance with Section 2 of the contract, the City will
pay to the engineer a minimum fee of $416,000 and a maximum fee of $489,000
for the basic services defined in the contract.
