RESOLUTION NO. /V-4/
RESOLUTION APPROVING FEES FOR SUBMITTING LABORATORY
SPECIMEN TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH ON BEHALF
OF LABORATORIES OUTSIDE THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT, AND
REQUIRING ANNUAL REVIEW OF COST AND RECOMMENDATIONS
FOR FEE ADJUSTMENTS .
WHEREAS , submitting laboratory specimen to the Texas Depart-
ment of Health for laboratories other than the local health
department is a convenience service for individual laboratories
and private individuals which is not a correct public health
function; and,
WHEREAS, the expense of submitting a serology specimen is
4 . 00 per specimen; and,
WHEREAS, the cost of submitting a virology specimen is $22 . 00;
and,
WHEREAS, other specimen, solid, liquid or gas may be submitted
in the future and cost of submission is not available; and,
WHEREAS , fluctuating costs suggest annual review of fees .
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS , THAT :
A fee of $4 . 00 shall be charged for each serology specimen and
22 .00 for each virology specimen the local public health district
submits to the Texas Department of Health on behalf of any laboratory
or individual outside the health department.
If other specimen, solid, liquid or gas be submitted, the actual
cost of submission shall be charged.
Each year the cost of submitting specimen to the Texas
Department of Health shall be reviewed by the Director/Health
Authority and Health District Manager and shall recommend fee
adjustments if the cost of providing these services has changed
significantly.
This resolution shall become effective 30 days from the
date of its passage.
