ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE
FY 2002 LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT AND TO
APPROPRIATE $83,293.00 IN THE SPECIAL REVENUE FUND;
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has been awarded the FY 2002 Local Law
Enforcement Block Grant in the amount of $83,293.00, of which 90% are federal
monies ($74,964.00) and 10% ($8,329.00) is a required local match; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to use the Police Department's forfeiture funds for
the required local match; and
WHEREAS, an advisory committee made up of members of the community, as
required by LLEBG policies, will advise the City Council as to the use of grant proceeds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept the FY 2002
Local Law Enforcement Block Grant in the amount of $83,293.00, and such monies
shall be appropriated into the Special Revenue Fund
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
