ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, REAPPOINTING SUBSTITUTE JUDGES OF THE
MUNICIPAL COURT FOR TERMS OF TWO YEARS; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE §30.00008 authorizes the City Council to
appoint one or more persons to serve in the place of the municipal judge temporarily
absent due to illness, family death, continuing legal or judicial education programs, or
any other reason; and
WHEREAS, Mike Whalen and Diane Dockery are currently serving in this
capacity, and wish to be reappointed; and
WHEREAS, the City Council consents to such reappointments.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Mike Whalen and Diane Dockery are hereby reappointed as
substitute judges of the Municipal Court for terms of two years, from October 1, 2002.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
