RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS FOR TRACTS OF LAND
ACQUIRED BY CITY AT TAX SALES.
WHEREAS, the City heretofore purchased at tax sales, for
itself and as trustee for other taxing agencies , the following
tracts of land in Wichita Falls :
First Tract. Lot 23 , Block 1, Rivers
Addition, also known as 1219 Gladiolus.
Second Tract. Lot 14, Block 7 , Bateson
Second Addition, also known as 504 Marconi.
Third Tract. Lot 10, Block 18, Bateson
Second Addition, also known as 512 Sullivan.
Fourth Tract. Lot 11, Block 1, E. A.
Austin Survey, Abstract 425, also known
as 1304 Clark.
WHEREAS, the City has advertised for bids to purchase such
tracts; and,
WHEREAS, the bid of Charles Peters in the amount of $1, 511 .14
was the highest bid for the first tract; the bid of Charles Peters
in the amount of $1, 411 .14 was the highest bid for the second tract;
the bid of Steven Neal in the amount of $1, 200 .00 was the only bid
for the third tract; the bid of W. Jane Melton in the amount of
4 . 100 . 00 was the only bid for the fourth tract; and,
WHEREAS, it is found that such bids are fair and reasonable,
and should be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The above bids of Charles Peters for the first tract, Charles
Peters for the second tract, Steven Neal for the third tract, and W.
Jane Melton for the fourth tract, are hereby accepted, and the Mayor
is hereby authorized to join with the officers of the other taxing
units in executing deeds to such purchasers.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 7th day of August 1984 .
