RESOLUTION TO ESTABLISH A POLICY FOR WATER
CONNECTIONS TO THE RAW WATER TRANSMISSION SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the City has a raw water transmission system, with most
of the system outside the corporate city limits;
WHEREAS, the raw water transmission lines are vital to the water
system serving the citizens of Wichita Falls, and the Council desires to
restrict the use of the lines for other than their intended purpose;
WHEREAS, the City receives requests from various parties to make
connection to the transmission system; and
WHEREAS, the Council desires to state a policy to facilitate staff
operations.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
There shall be no connections made to the raw water transmission
system to serve individual requirements. Connections to serve incorporated
cities, industries, rural water systems, or other such entities will be permitted
only after completion of a contractual arrangement between the City of Wichita
Falls and the entity involved.
