RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION WITH OTHER
TEXAS MUNICIPAL LEAGUE CITIES IN HEARINGS BEFORE
PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION ON TEXAS UTILITIES
ELECTRIC COMPANY' S REQUEST FOR RATE INCREASE.
WHEREAS, Texas Utilities Electric Company did, on March 9 ,
1984 , file a schedule of rates for electric service within the
City of Wichita Falls, to become effective April 13 , 1984 , which
request was denied by Resolution No. 49-84 , dated March 20 , 1984; and,
WHEREAS, Texas Utilities Electric Company has appealed this
denial to the Public Utilities Commission, and has requested that
the case be consolidated with the pending request for increased
rates in unincorporated areas; and,
WHEREAS, a number of Texas Municipal League Cities are banding
together and hiring consultants and attorneys to act in their behalf
to obtain information necessary to this rate proposal and to conduct
investigations, present evidence, advise and represent them before
the Public Utilities Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City of Wichita Falls is hereby authorized to participate
with the other Texas Municipal League Cities in such hearings before
the Public Utilities Commission, and to pay for such participation
the amount of one cent per capita.
