RESOLUTION APPROVING INTERIM CONTRACT WITH WICHITA
COUNTY, BURKBURNETT AND IOWA PARK FOR INTERIM AMBU-
LANCE SERVICE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS, THAT:
That certain contract, a copy of which is attached hereto,
for interim ambulance service with Wichita County, Burkburnett,
and Iowa Park, is hereby approved, and the City Manager is authorized
to execute the same for the City of Wichita Falls .

ENTITIES ' CONTRACT FOR INTERIM AMBULANCE SERVICE
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS :
WHEREAS, on the 7th day of June, 1984 , private ambulance service
for the citizens of Wichita County is anticipated to cease; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Burkburnett, Texas, the City of Iowa Park,
Texas, the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and the County of Wichita,
Texas, desire to meet the necessity of the citizens until the emergency
is abated; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls, with the support and
cooperation of the Cities of Burkburnett and Iowa Park and County of
Wichita, can best provide emergency ambulance service to the citizens
of the Cities of Wichita Falls, Burkburnett, Iowa Park and unincorporated
areas of Wichita County until the emergency is abated; and,
WHEREAS, the aforementioned parties have previously cooperated
to secure two ambulances and are agreeable to providing and equipping
additional ambulances and sharing other costs associated with
operating an emergency ambulance service.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Wichita Falls is appointed as the
Agent of the Cities of Burkburnett and Iowa Park, and the County of
Wichita for the purpose of establishing, operating and maintaining,
or to oversee the contract for a private emergency ambulance service
to serve the citizens of. all the parties . The City of Wichita Falls
shall hereinafter be called "Agent" and the Cities of Burkburnett
and Iowa Park and County of Wichita shall hereinafter be called
Others" . The Agent and Others do hereby agree to the following terms
and conditions :
I .
The Others agree to share with and to recompense the Agent for
additional costs directly associated with the establishment, operation
and maintenance of an emergency ambulance service on a prorated basis
as follows:
City of Wichita Falls 42%
County of Wichita 50%
City of Burkburnett 5%
City of Iowa Park 3%
Additional costs are defined as costs that the Agent incurs
as a result of assuming this duty above the normal operating costs
existing on the date of assumption.
II .
The Others hereby appoint the Agent as their trustee for the
purchase or lease of ambulances, equipment, supplies and services
as are necessary for the purpose of this agreement. Title shall be
in the name of the Agent as trustee. Purchasing procedures of the
Agent shall apply.
III .
Items purchased by the Agent as trustee and not consumed may be
disposed of by the Agent after prior consultation and agreement
with the Others. Any funds derived from the sale of such items
shall be distributed proportionately among the parties in accordance
with their prorata contributions, unless otherwise agreed among
the parties.
IV.
The Others agree to reimburse the Agent on a timely basis on
billing for major purchases and on a monthly basis on billing of
the Agent for other costs.
V.
The Others further agree to assist the Agent in establishing
operating procedures and lines of communication as may be required
to effectuate the purpose of this agreement.
VI .
This agreement shall be effective as of the date signed below
and shall remain in full force and effect until a new long-term ambulance

contract is approved by the parties, or until this agreement is
changed or rescinded by agreement of all parties signatory hereto.
