AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING GRACE STREET BETWEEN 22ND
STREET AND MCGREGOR STREET, AND RETAINING A UTILITY EASEMENT
WHEREAS, the property owners adjacent to Grace Street, between 22nd
Street and McGregor Street have requested or consented to the closure of the said
portion of Grace Street; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning Board of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas has
recommended the closure of the said section of Grace Street; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas deems
it advisable and in the public interest to close and abandon the street hereinafter
described.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The portion of Grace Street which lies between the north
right-of-way line of 22nd Street and the south right-of-way line of McGregor
Street, be and the same is hereby closed and abandoned.
SECTION 2. The City of Wichita Falls, Texas hereby reserves on the
entire area described in Section 1 a utility easement for the purposes of laying
and maintaining all kind and character of utility lines including water, gas,
electric, telephone, television cable, power lines, and sanitary and storm sewers.
