RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS OF THE MUNICIPAL
ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS, ON APRIL 7, 1984 , FOR MAYOR AND FOR
COUNCILMEN, PLACES 4 , 5 , AND 6 .
WHEREAS, at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Wichita Falls, Texas, held in the Memorial Auditorium Building
on the 17th day of April, 1984 , at which time a quorum was present,
there came on to be considered the returns of the municipal
election held on the 7th day of April, 1984 ; and,
WHEREAS, after canvassing the returns of said election, it was
found to be duly and legally held in all respects , and that
7 , 818 voters voted in said election, and that votes were
cast as follows:
FOR MAYOR:
Kenneth Hill received 1,788 votes.
Reginald L. Robinson, Jr. received 1, 033 votes.
Gary D. Cook received 4 , 914 votes .
Write-In Votes 1 .
FOR COUNCILMAN, PLACE 4
Craig A. Wilson received 4, 012 votes .
Robert L. Barenberg received 3 , 614 votes .

FOR COUNCILMAN, PLACE 5
Randolph H. Duke received 1, 049 votes .
Bill Palmer received 5 , 164 votes .
Gertie C . Baity received 1, 385 votes.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS, THAT:
Said election was in all respects legally held in accordance
with the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter and ordinances
of the City of Wichita Falls; that Gary D. Cook was duly and
legally elected Mayor; Craig A. Wilson was duly and legally elected
Councilman, Place 4 ; Bill Palmer was duly and legally elected
Councilman, Place 5; James A. Welburn was duly and legally elected
Councilman, Place 6 .
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 17th day of April, 1984 .
