RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING GRANT APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS CRIMINAL
JUSTICE COUNCIL FOR THE REGIONAL BURGLARY AND THEFT INVESTIGATION
SUPPORT SYSTEM.
Whereas, funds are available through the Texas Criminal Justice Council
to fund Automatic Data Processing Equipment. This program involves the in-
stallation of two data work stations (CRT's) and a disc storage unit which will
provide an efficient and cost effective method of maintaining an accurate rec-
ord of information required for the investigative units of the Police Department; and
Whereas, the automated system will enable the department to maintain
reliable, up-to-date information on property cycled through pawn and second
hand merchandise shops and physical identifiers that could be matched with
suspects, thus reducing the crime rate and aiding in the recovery of stolen
property; and
Whereas, the estimated cost of the project fo first year funding would be
32,940.00, with $17,340 be provided in the state grant and $15,600 to be provided
by the City of Wichita Falls.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS,
THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to make an application to the Texas
Criminal Justice Coundil for a grant in the amount of $17,340.00 to be matched
with $15,600.00 to be provided by the City of Wichita Falls, Texas.
