ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTIONS 4-15 AND 4-24 OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ALLOW THE SALE OF BEER AT
OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE CHURCH ON MAY 1, 1982 .
WHEREAS, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church is sponsoring their
Fifth of May celebration on Saturday, May 1, 1982 at the church
grounds located at 606 Homes Street in Wichita Falls, beginning
at 5: 00 o 'clock p.m. and ending 11: 00 o'clock p.m. , and the
proceeds of this fund-raising event will be used by the church to
purchase books, educational aid equipment and supplies that will
be used in the instruction of the Christian doctrine; and,
WHEREAS, the sponsors of this event have requested permission
for beer to be sold at such celebration; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen find that the circumstances
involved in this situation are exceptional, and that a waiver of
Sections 4-15 and 4-24 of the Code of Ordinances should be granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The requirements of Sections 4-15 and 4-24 of the Code of
Ordinances are hereby waived to allow the sale of beer at such cele-
bration at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 606 Homes Street on May 1,
1982 .
