ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTION 25-14 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES TO ALLOW A PUBLIC DANCE AT
4-H BARN ON APRIL 9 , 1982 .
WHEREAS, Kappa Alpha Order is sponsoring their "Springfest ' 82"
on Friday, April 9, 1982 at the 4-H Barn on Midwestern Parkway in
Wichita Falls, beginning at 6: 00 o'clock p.m. and ending at midnight,
and the proceeds of this fund-raising event will be used by the
Muscular Dystrophy Association to benefit those stricken by muscular
dystrophy; and,
WHEREAS, the sponsors of this event have requested permission
for public dancing to be allowed at such event; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen find that the circumstances
involved in this situation are exceptional, and that a waiver of
Section 25-14 of the Code of Ordinances, which prohibits public
dances except where a license has been issued, should be granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The requirements of Section 25-14 of the Code of Ordinances
are hereby waived to allow public dancing without a license at such
event at the 4-H Barn on Midwestern Parkway on April 9, 1982 .
