ORDINANCE IMPOSING A TWO PER CENT GROSS RECEIPTS
TAX ON THE CONDUCT OF BINGO GAMES WITHIN THE CITY.
WHEREAS, an election was held within the City of Wichita
Falls on April 3, 1982 , at which a majority of the voters voted
to legalize bingo games within the City of Wichita Falls.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. There is hereby imposed a two per cent gross
receipts tax on the conduct of bingo games within the City, as
authorized by Section 3 of Article 179d, Revised Civil Statutes
of Texas.
SECTION 2. Such gross receipts taxes shall be due and payable
by the licensee conducting bingo games to the Comptroller of
Public Accounts of Texas as provided in Section 20 of said Article
179d.
SECTION 3. The funds received by the City from such gross
receipts tax may be used by the City for any purpose for which the
general funds of the City may be used, as provided in Section 26
of said Article 179d.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall become effective thirty days
after its passage.
