AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING A PORTION OF WASHINGTON
STREET BETWEEN LOT 7, BLOCK 33 AND LOT 1, BLOCK 50, ORIGINAL
TOWNSITE OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS AND RETAINING A
UTILITY EASEMENT
WHEREAS, the Planning Board has recommended the closure of said street
subject to retaining of a utility easement; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas
deems it advisable and in the public interest to close the street, hereinafter
described.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The following described portion of Washington Street lying
between Block 33 and Block 50 of the Original Townsite of the City of Wichita
Falls, Texas, to wit:
BEGINNING at the southeast corner of Lot 7, Block 33;
THENCE in a southwesterly direction 150 feet along the northern right-
of-way of Washington Street to the southwest corner of Lot 7, Block 33;
THENCE in a southeasterly direction 80 feet crossing the right-of-way
of Washington Street to the northwesterly corner of Lot 1, Block 50;
THENCE in a northeasterly direction 150 feet along the southern right-
of-way of Washington Street to the northeastern corner of Lot 1,
Block 50;
THENCE in a northwesterly direction 80 feet crossing the right-of-way
of Washington Street to the place of beginning;
be and the same is hereby closed and abandoned.
SECTION 2. The City of Wichita Falls, Texas hereby reserves an easement
in the entire said portion of Washington Street for the purpose of laying and
maintaining all kind and character of utility line including water, gas, electric,
telephone, T.V. cable and power lines, sanitary and storm sewers, and drainage
ditches; no structure shall be built by the landowner on said easement.
