Ord 060-82 5/18/1982 ORDINANCE NO. 60-82 ORDINANCE CONTINUING THE DECLARATION OF THE STATE OF EMERGENCY IN THE CITY. WHEREAS , on May 13 , 1982 , Mayor Gary D. Cook declared a state of emergency in the City of Wichita Falls because of the flood which struck the City on May 12 , 1982 ; and, WHEREAS , widespread and severe damage and loss of property resulted from such flood, and the Board of Aldermen find that the state of emergency continues to exist in the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The state of emergency heretofore declared by Mayor Cook continues to exist in the City, and shall continue until it is terminated by the Board of Aldermen. SECTION 2 . Because of the widespread and severe damage and loss of property resulting from such flood, this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure, and it shall take effect upon its passage.
