REQUEST FOR WAIVER OF 70% LOCAL LABOR REQUIREMENT
FOR CYPRESS EXPANSION PROJECT CONTRACT D
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is expanding the Cypress
Street Water Treatment Plant;
WHEREAS, the work is being accomplished in a series of five
separate contracts;
WHEREAS, the design work for Contract D is nearing completion and
the contract will soon be let for bids;
WHEREAS, the City has a policy that 70% of the worker hours on
a project on a craft by craft basis must be performed by bonafide residents
of the Wichita Falls standard metropolitan statistical area; and,
WHEREAS, the City staff and the Design Engineer for Contract D have
recommended a waiver of the 70% local labor requirement for this contract
because of the specialized nature of the work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The requirement of Resolution 112-83 for 70% local labor is hereby
waived for Contract D of the Cypress Street Water Treatment Plant Expansion
Project to allow use of workers residing within a 250 miles radius of Wichita
Falls.
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS THE 3RD DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1985.
