RESOLUTION PROVIDING THAT TERMS OF OFFICE OF DIRECTORS
OF THE BOARD OF THE WICHITA APPRAISAL DISTRICT BE
STAGGERED.
WHEREAS, the present directors of the Wichita Appraisal District are now
serving concurrent terms of office that end on the same date; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of Texas, in passing Section 6.032
of the Texas Tax Code, has allowed each appraisal district the option of
providing staggered terms of office for members serving on the Board of
Directors; and,
WHEREAS, such option is deemed by this taxing entity to be advantageous
to the Board of Directors and to the taxpayers of Wichita County, Texas, for
the reason that it will insure continuity of experience on the Board of Directors.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Effective January I, 1986, the terms of office of the Directors serving on
the Board of the Wichita Appraisal District be staggered in accordance with
the methodology provided in Section 6.032 of the Texas Tax Code.
