RESOLUTION TO APPROVE CONTRACT WITH BIGGS
MATHEWS, INC. , CONSULTING ENGINEERS, FOR
UPDATE OF SLUDGE DISPOSAL ENGINEERING REPORT
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls operates a Wastewater Treatment
Plant on the River Road in the City of Wichita Falls;
WHEREAS, the City must provide for the proper disposition of the sludge
which is a by-product of the treatment processes of the plant;
WHEREAS, a study was published in early 1982 outlining the techniques
that should be adopted immediately and in the years ahead for the disposal of the
sludge;
WHEREAS, a number of factors have changed since the 1982 study and
the Council deems it necessary to up-date the study before any additional invest-
ments are made for the sludge disposal in the future;
WHEREAS, the firm of Biggs & Mathews, Inc. , Consulting Engineers, are
well qualified to continue the study initially begun in 1982; and,
WHEREAS, the Council has examined a proposed contract for a follow-on
study of the sludge disposal system.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The proposed contract with the frim of Biggs & Mathews to up-date the
1982 study for sludge disposal is approved, and the City Manager is authorized
to execute the same in an amount not to exceed $3,800.00.
