RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY 'S CONTINUATION OF
ITS PARTICIPATION IN THE 1984 TEXAS UTILITIES
RATE CASE.
WHEREAS, Texas Utilities Electric Company did, on March 9 ,
1984 , file a schedule of increased rates for electric service
within the City, to become effective April 13 , 1984 , which
request was denied by the City Council by Resolution No . 49-84 ;
and,
WHEREAS , Texas Utilities Electric Company appealed such
denial to the Public Utilities Commission, and requested that
the case be consolidated with the pending request for increased
rates in unincorporated areas; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council , by Resolution No. 115-84 ,
authorized the City to participate with other Texas Municipal
League cities in hearings before the Public Utilities Commission
in such case, and to pay for such participation the amount of
One Cent per capita; and,
WHEREAS, the Public Utilities Commission has rendered a
decision reducing the company' s rates , but also denying certain
issues urged by the cities, from which decision both the company
and the cities have appealed to the court.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS , THAT:
The City of Wichita Falls is hereby authorized to continue
its participation in such rate case by remaining a named party
in the cities' defense against appeals of the PUC decision
filed by the company and others and in the cities ' appeals of
the PUC decision. It is understood that continued participation
does not create any financial obligation on the part of the
City.
