RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE POSITION OF THE WICHITA
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT REGARDING THE THREATENED
LAWSUIT BY THE WICHITA GENERAL HOSPITAL BOARD.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Council hereby publicly endorses the position of
the Wichita County Commissioners Court regarding the threatened
lawsuit by the Board of the Wichita General Hospital to resolve
the issue of indigent medical care. Specifically, the Council
hereby declares its opposition to such suit and joins the County
Commissioners in requesting the Board to defer its planned suit
pending action by the current session of the Texas Legislature;
if no action be taken, then the Council supports the calling of
a public referendem to obtain formal direction from the citizens
regarding the future status of the hospital.
