RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE DESIGNATION OF
KICKAPOO AIRPARK, WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS AS
A RELIEVER AIRPORT FOR THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Municipal Airport operates at the convenience of the
Department of Defense and the Congress of the United States; and,
WHEREAS, the local Commander can, in the event of local emergencies, suspend
commercial aviation activities for periods not to exceed seventy-two (72) hours; and,
WHEREAS, the President or the Congress of the United States could suspend Com-
mercial Aviation activities in the event of National Emergencies or a Declared War; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls deems it to be in the best
interest of the citizens of Wichita Falls that Commercial Aviation activities have suitable
facilities for continuous operations;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
That the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls hereby supports the designation
of Kickapoo Airpark as a reliever airport for the City of Wichita Falls.
