RESOLUTION TERMINATING OFFER TO CONTRACT WITH CITY
OF LAKESIDE CITY FOR SANITARY WASTEWATER DISPOSAL
AND TREATMENT.
WHEREAS , heretofore the City Council of Lakeside City made plans
to construct a new sanitary wastewater disposal system, to be funded
by a bond issue; under these plans, the wastewater in such system
would be delivered to the City of Wichita Falls for treatment and
disposal; and,
WHEREAS, the City Councils of Wichita Falls and Lakeside City
met and worked out a tentative agreement under which the City of
Wichita Falls would receive, treat and dispose of such wastewater;
and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls City Council thereafter adopted
Resolutions No . 143-83 and No. 5-84 , wherein they authorized the
City Manager to execute a contract with Lakeside City to provide
these services to Lakeside City; and,
WHEREAS, Lakeside City thereafter held an election to approve
issuance of bonds to finance the project, at which election the bond
issue was defeated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE. Since such bond issue failed, the City of Wichita
Falls does hereby terminate its offer to contract with Lakeside City,
as approved in Resolutions No. 143-83 and No. 5-84 .
SECTION TWO. If in the future the City of Lakeside City comes
up with another plan for wastewater disposal, it is expected that the
City Council of the City of Wichita Falls would at that time be willing ,
to meet again with the City Council of Lakeside City to consider the
proposed new plan.
