AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING, AND ABANDONING A
PORTION OF PLAZA PARKWAY AND REQUIRING THE
RELOCATION OF THE WATER AND SEWER LINES THEREIN
WHEREAS, the Planning Board of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas
has recommended the closure of a portion of Plaza Parkway; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of Wichita Falls, Texas deems it advisable
and in the public interest to close, vacate, and abandon the street hereinafter
described.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1: A portion of Plaza Parkway, being more specifically
described as follows:
A tract of land out of the 0.H.P. Davis Survey, A-65 , and the Day Land and
Cattle Company Survey, A-619, Wichita County, Texas, said tract being more
specifically described by metes and bounds as follows:
Beginning at a 1/2" iron rod for the point of intersection of the East
right-of-way line of Maplewood Avenue and the North right-of-way line of
the existing southern approach of Plaza Parkway, said 1/2" iron rod being
the Northwest corner and place of beginning of this description;
Thence along said existing North right-of-way line of Plaza Parkway as
follows:
Thence North 76° 43' East 698.44 feet to a 1/2" iron rod for a
point of curvature; thence along a 6 .701 degree curve to the
right having a radius of 855.08 feet and a central angle of 13°
49' 16 .1" a total distance of 206.27 feet to a 1/2" iron rod for
a point of tangency; thence South 89° 28' East 200.00 feet to a
1/2" iron rod for a point of curvature; thence along a 36.378
degree curve to the left having a radius of 157 .50 feet and a
central angle of 90° 13' 59 .7" a total distance of 248.04 feet to
a 1/2" iron rod for the Northeast corner of this tract;
Thence along the West right-of-way line of proposed Plaza Parkway as
follows:
Thence South 00° 18' West 138.96 feet to a 1/2" iron rod for a
point of curvature; thence along a 28.647 degree curve to the
right having a radius of 200.00 feet and a central angle of 03°
15' 43.4" a total distance of 11.39 feet to a 1/2" iron rod in
the West right-of-way line of existing Plaza Parkway for the
Southeast corner of this tract;

Thence along the West and South right-of-way lines of existing Plaza
Parkway as follows:
Thence along a 26.343 degree curve to the right having a radius
of 217 .50 feet and a central angle of 46° 30' 25 .4" a total
distance of 176.54 feet to a 1/2" iron rod for a point of
tangency; thence North 89° 28' West 200 .00 feet to a 1/2" iron
rod for a point of curvature; thence along a 7 .206 degree curve
to the left having a radius of 795.08 feet and a central angle of
13° 49' 16 .1" a total distance of 191.79 feet to a 1/2" iron rod
for a point of tangency; thence South 76° 43' West 591 .69 feet to
a 1/2" iron rod in the North right-of-way line of proposed Plaza
Parkway for the most southerly Southwest corner of this tract;
Thence along the North right-of-way line of proposed Plaza Parkway
North 75° 10' West 121 .15 feet to a 1/2" iron rod in the East right-of-way
line of Maplewood Avenue for the most westerly Southwest corner of this
tract;
Thence along said East right-of-way line of Maplewood Avenue and along
1 a 6 .774 degree curve to the right having a radius of 845.69 feet and a
central angle of 00° 11' 47" a total distance of 2 .90 feet to the place of
beginning and containing 1 .706 acres, more or less;
be and the same is hereby closed, vacated, and abandoned.
SECTION 2: All utility lines located within the area described in
.Section 1, including water and sewer lines, shall be relocated by the developer
at his own cost as a condition of said closure.
