ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTION 22-1, SUBSECTION
(a) (9) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ALLOW
ADVERTISING SIGNS AT HAMILTON PARK TENNIS
CENTER DURING THE WICHITA FALLS COLLEGIATE
CLASSIC TENNIS TOURNAMENT.
WHEREAS , Section 22-1, Subsection (a) (9) prohibits signs in
parks; and,
WHEREAS, a request has been made to post commercial advertising
signs at Hamilton Park Tennis Center in conjunction with the
Wichita Falls Collegiate Classic Tennis Tournament, on September
30 through October 2, 1983; and,
WHEREAS , the City Council finds that the circumstances
involved in this situation are exceptional, and that a waiver of
such ordinance should be granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The requirements of Section 22-1, Subsection (a) (9) of the
Code of Ordinances are hereby waived to allow the Wichita Falls
Tennis Association to hang an advertising banner and posters (in
such numbers and at such locations as approved by the Parks and
Recreation Department) at the Hamilton Park Tennis Center while
such Wichita Falls Collegiate Classic Tennis Tournament is being
conducted on September 30 through October 2, 1983 .
