RESOLUTION NO. /1j—,a
AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION WITHIN THE
WICHITA COUNTY 9-1-1 COMMUNICATION
DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is a city that lies wholly or partly within
Wichita County; and
WHEREAS, a majority of the votes cast by the voters of Wichita County, in
November 4, 1986, election, as found in the Final Official Canvass of the Election
Records of Wichita County, Texas, County Clerk's Office, were in favor of confirming
the creation of the Wichita County 9-1-1 Communication District and authorizing a
9-1-1 emergency service fee to be charged;
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, State of
Texas:
That the matters and facts recited in the preamble of this Resolution are
found and determined to be true and correct; and
That the City of Wichita Falls become a participating jurisdiction of the
Wichita County 9-1-1 Communication District pursuant to the provisions of 9-1-1
Emergency Number Act with all the rights, privileges and duties as stated in said
act, particularly the charging and collecting of the 9-1-1 emergency service fee
according to the terms of said Act.
It is understood that once confirmed, the Wichita County 9-1-1 Communication
District will be subject to public review every three years, pursuant to Section 16
of the 9-1-1 Emergency Number Act and that the continued existence or dissolution
of the Wichita County 9-1-1 Communication District will be effected only by the
terms of said Act.
