RESOLUTION SUPPORTING PARTICIPATION IN THE
TEXAS MAIN STREET PROGRAM AS A SELF-INITIATED
PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the Texas Main Street Project of the Texas Historical
Commission has been created to assist cities and to develop a
public/private effort to revitalize their downtowns; and,
WHEREAS, the Texas Main Street Project has established
criteria for designation as a self-initiated Main Street Project
and a program of limited assistance to qualifying projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City of Wichita Falls supports and accepts
the criteria for designation as a self-initiated Main Street
Project.
SECTION 2 . Midtown Now, Inc. will fund and employ a full-
time Main Street Project Manager.
SECTION 3. The Executive Director of Midtown Now, Inc.
be designated to supervise the Main Street Project Manager.
