A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO FILE
APPLICATIONS FOR ADDITIONAL UNITS UNDER THE SECTION 8
EXISTING HOUSING ASSISTANCE PAYMENTS PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls currently has an
approved Section 8 Existing Housing Assistance Payment Program
in operation; and,
WHEREAS, there is an identified need for additional
assisted housing units in the City' s approved Housing Assist-
ance Plan; and,
WHEREAS, the Regional Office of The Department of Housing
and Urban Development issues a "Notice of Funds Availability"
for additional units at various times during the year; and,
WHEREAS, the deadline in which the city must complete
application for these units may expire prior to a scheduled
City Council session.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to file appli-
cations for needed additional units of Section 8 Existing
Housing any time a Notice for Fund Availability is issued and
to execute the amended Annual Contribution Contract for any
units approved by the Department of Housing and Urban Devel-
opment. Such application shall include the documents and
certification required by the act.
