RESOLUTION TO APPROVE CONTRACT WITH
ENGINEERING FIRM FOR SANITARY SEWER
SMOKE TESTS
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is attempting to reduce the
amount of inflow and infiltration of ground and surface waters into its
sanitary sewer system;
WHEREAS, the City has been conducting a multi-year program of
smoke detection tests and rehabilitation;
WHEREAS, adequate funds have been provided in the current budget
to conduct smoke tests;
WHEREAS, the engineering firm of Biggs and Mathews, Incorporated
has previously conducted such tests for the City and is recommended for
the next series of smoke detection tests; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has examined a proposed contract to
engage Biggs and Mathews for this purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The proposed engineering contract with the firm of Biggs and
Mathews, Incorporated for the conduct of a smoke detection program is
hereby approved and the City Manager is authorized to execute said
contract in the amount of $149,430.00.
