RESOLUTION TO APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 FOR
CONTRACT B, CYPRESS TREATMENT PLANT EXPANSION
PROJECT, ACCEPT THE PROJECT AS COMPLETE, AND
AUTHORIZE FINAL PAYMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls and Bowles Construction Company
have a contract for the completion of certain specified work as a part of the
project to expand the Cypress Street Water Treatment Plant;
WHEREAS, the work required by the contract is now complete and has
been inspected and approved by the staff;
WHEREAS, under the terms of the contract, the contractor is authorized
a bonus payment of $3,750.00, and the Council has examined a change order for such
payment; and,
WHEREAS, the contract provides for liquidated damages which, for this
project, amount to $1 ,800.00 because the work was not completed until 18 days after
the agreed completion date.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Change Order No. 2 for Contract B, Cypress Expansion Project, is approved
in the amount of $3,750.00, bringing the total contract amount to $490,665.82. The
Council accepts the work as complete, and the City Manager is authorized to make a
final payment of $16,950.00.
