AWARD OF BID FOR ASBESTOS REMOVAL
AT THE POLICE HEADQUARTERS BUILDING
WHEREAS, the presence of asbestos fibers in the accoustic ceilings of a
portion of the Police Headquarters Building may pose a potential health hazard;
and
WHEREAS, funds have been appropriated for the purpose of removing such
asbestos; and
WHEREAS, this project has been advertised and bids have been received and
opened;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The bid of Kossuth Insulators , Inc. is hereby accepted and the City
Manager is authorized to execute a contract with Kossuth Insulators, Inc. for
asbestos removal at the Police Headquarters Building in the amount of $33,000.
Further, all local labor requirements are waived for this contract due to
the technical nature of the work and the lack of certified local contractors.
