RESOLUTION SUPPORTING PARTICIPATION IN THE TEXAS
MAIN STREET PROGRAM AS A SELF-INITIATED URBAN
PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the Texas Main Street Project of the Texas Historical
Commission has been created to assist cities to develop a public/
private effort to revitalize their downtowns; and,
WHEREAS, the Texas Main Street Project has established criteria
for designation as a self-initiated urban Main Street Project and
a program of limited assistance to qualifying projects .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS, THAT :
SECTION 1 . The City of Wichita Falls supports and accepts
the criteria for designation as a self-initiated Main Street Project .
SECTION 2 . Midtown Now, Inc . , City of Wichita Falls and
Wichita County Heritage Society will fund, and Midtown Now, Inc .
will employ a full-time Main Street Project Manager .
SECTION 3 . Midtown Now, Inc . , Director be designated to
supervise the Main Street Project Manager .
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 4th day of February, 1986 .
