RESOLUTION TO APPROVE CONTRACT WITH ENGINEERING
CONSULTING FIRM FOR DESIGN OF UTILITY SYSTEM
IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, the City issued $12 million in bonds in 1984 to finance
certain utility improvements;
WHEREAS, the first large segment of the work (expansion of the
Cypress Street Water Treatment Plant) has progressed to the point that costs
are known adequately enough to allow the remaining segments to be accomplished;
WHEREAS, the Council now desires to proceed with the construction of
a 24-inch pipe line and a 2 million gallon elevated storage tank, and with the
installation of an electronic monitoring system for the Water and Sewer Utility;
WHEREAS, the firm of Biggs & Mathews, Inc. , is acceptable to the Council
for the engineering services required to accomplish the stated work; and,
WHEREAS, the Council has examined a proposed contract with the firm of
Biggs & Mathews for this purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT
The proposed contract with the firm of Biggs & Mathews, Inc. , is
approved with a fee of not less than $220,000 and not more than $250,000, and
the City Manager is authorized to execute the stated contract.
