RESOLUTION NO. 61-2014
Resolution authorizing the City Manager to apply for Grant Funds to
the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program in the
amount of $38,539.00 with co-applicant, Wichita County Sheriff’s
Office
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has been notified that it is eligible for
$38,539.00 from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program;
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the City Manager to submit an
application to obtain any available funds from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice
Assistance Grant Program;
WHEREAS, these funds will be shared by the Wichita Falls Police Department
($21,196.45) and the Wichita County Sheriff’s Office ($17,342.55), co-applicants for
such grant; and
WHEREAS, these funds are planned to be used to assist in the purch ase of
Tasers, Stalker Moving Radars, Camelbak Carriers, Camelbak Reservoirs, Leatherman
Tools, Entry Shields, and Mask Communication Sets.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply as a co -applicant to the Edward
Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program for funds in the amount of
$38,539.00 and execute an interlocal agreement with the co -applicant to provide for the
division of funds.
