Ord 097-83 9/6/1983 Y 4 a ORDINANCE NO. 917—//J l—D AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING, AND ABANDONING A PORTION OF A TWENTY (20) FOOT WIDE ALLEY IN THE CANFIELD'S SUBDIVISION OF BLOCK 263, WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS WHEREAS, the Planning Board of the City of Wichita Falls has recommended that a portion of the twenty (20) foot wide, easterly-westerly alley in the Canfield's Subdivision of Block 263, Wichita Falls, Texas be closed, vacated, and abandoned; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, deems it advisable and in the public interest to close, vacate, and abandon the alley here- after described. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL_ OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The portion of the twenty (20) foot wide alley in Canfield's Subdivision of Block 263, Wichita Falls, Texas being more specifically described as follows: BEGINNING at an iron rod being the southeast corner of Lot 1, of the above mentioned Canfield Subdivision, said iron rod being the intersection of the north line of a 20 foot alley and the west right-of- way line of Grace Street, a dedicated street, for the northeast corner and place of beginning of this tract; THENCE along said west right-of-way line of Grace Street, South 34° 53' East 20.0 feet to an iron rod lying in the south line of said 20 foot alley, for a corner, said iron rod being the northeast corner of Lot 26, of the said Canfield Subdivision; THENCE leaving said west right-of-way line of Grace Street, South 55° 22' 52" West 472.50 feet along the south line of said 20 foot alley to an iron rod for a corner, said iron rod being the northwest corner of Lot 18, of said Canfield Subdivision; THENCE leaving south line of said 20 foot alley, North 34° 54' West 20.0 feet to an iron rod lying in the north line of said 20 foot alley, for a corner, said iron rod being the southwest corner of Lot 9, of said Canfield Subdivision; THENCE along the north line of said 20 foot alley, North 55° 22' 52" East 472.50 feet to the place of beginning and containing 9,450.0 square feet or 0.22 acre, more or less. be and the same is hereby closed, vacated, and abandoned. SECTION 2. The City of Wichita Falls hereby reserves on the entire area described in Section 1, a utility easement for the purpose of laying and main- taining all kind and character of utility lines including water, gas, electric, telephone, television cable, power lines, and sanitary and storm sewers.
