ORDINANCE NO. 071-1-3
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AND ALLOWING
VESTING OF CERTAIN RIGHTS, AND FOR RETIREMENT
UNDER TEXAS MUNICIPAL RETIREMENT SYSTEM OF
EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS,
WHO HAVE ATTAINED FIFTY YEARS OF AGE AND HAVE
COMPLETED TWENTY-FIVE YEARS OF CREDITABLE SERVICE
WITH CERTAIN CITIES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS,
THAT:
Effective on the 1st day of January, 1984, any employee of the
City of Wichita Falls who has attained the age of fifty (50) years,
and who (as an employee of municipalities meeting the requirements
of Section 64. 102 (b) of Title 110B, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas,
1925, as amended) has completed twenty-five or more years of credit-
able service for which he is entitled to credit in the Texas Municipal
Retirement System, and who has been a member of the System for one year
or more, shall be eligible for service retirement as provided in Sub-
chapter B of Chapter 64 of said Title 110B, Revised Civil Statutes of
Texas, 1925, as amended. Any such employee who shall have completed
twenty (20) years or more of creditable service as an employee of
municipalities meeting the requirements of said Section 64.102 (b)
shall continue as a member of the Texas Municipal Retirement System
despite subsequent absence from service for a period in excess of
sixty months, provided he or she does not withdraw his deposits
during such absence, and shall be eligible for retirement upon and
after attainment of minimum age prescribed by the Act above mentioned.
