AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING, AND ABANDONING A TWENTY (20)
FOOT WIDE NORTH-SOUTH ALLEY IN BLOCK 21-A, HIGHLAND ADDITION
TO THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AND RETAINING A UTILITY
EASEMENT
WHEREAS, the Planning Board of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas has
recommended the closure of the twenty (20) foot north-south alley in Block 21-A,
Highland Addition to the City of Wichita Falls subject to the retention of a
utility easement; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, deems it
advisable and in the public interest to close, vacate, and abandon the said alley
hereafter described.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The twenty (20) foot north-south alley in Block 21-A, Highland
Addition, more specifically described as follows:
BEGINNING at the northeast corner of Lot 16, Block 21-A, Highland Addition,
said point being on the south right-of-way of Avenue R;
THENCE, in an easterly direction, twenty (20) feet along the south right-
of-way of Avenue R to a point on the northwest corner of Lot 1, Block
21-A, Highland Addition;
THENCE, in a southerly direction along the west boundary line of Lots
1 and 2, Block 21-A, Highland Addition, one hundred and five (105) feet
more or less to a point in the north right-of-way line of Kell Freeway;
THENCE, in a southwesterly direction along the said north right-of-way
of Kell Freeway twenty-two (22) feet more or less to the point of its
intersection with the east property line of Lot 14, Block 21-A, Highland
Addition;
THENCE in a northerly direction along the east boundary line of Lots
14, 15, & 16, Block 21-A, one hundred and fifteen (115) feet more or
less to the place of beginning;
be and the same is hereby closed, vacated, and abandoned.
SECTION 2. The City of Wichita Falls hereby reserves on the entire area
described in Section 1, a utility easement for the purpose of laying and maintaining
all kind and character of utility lines including water, gas, electric, telephone,
television cable, power lines, and sanitary and storm sewers.
