AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING THE NECESSITY FOR, ORDERING
AND PROVIDING FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF PORTIONS OF
AVENUES, STREETS AND PUBLIC PLACES IN THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, DESIGNATED AS THE 1980-82
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM, PROJECT 83-1 , MAKING
PROVISION FOR THE LEVYING OF ASSESSMENTS AGAINST
ABUTTING PROPERTIES, APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECI-
FICATIONS PREPARED BY THE CITY ENGINEER, DIRECTING
THE ADVERTISING FOR BIDS AND PROVIDING SUNDRY OTHER
MATTERS INCIDENT THERETO.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas is of the
opinion that the hereinafter mentioned portions of avenues, streets and public
places in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas should be improved;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
I .
It is hereby determined that it is necessary that the following portions
of avenues, streets and public places in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas be
improved, to-wit:
HARLAN AVENUE: From the north property line
of the Old Iowa Park Highway
to the south property line of
Maurine Street.
CRESCENT From the east property line of
STREET: City View Drive to the west
boundary of Sunset Terrace
Addition, Section One.
II .
The improvements provided for herein shall be made and constructed, notice
given, hearing held and assessment levied and all proceedings taken and had in
accordance with and under the terms of the powers and provisions of Chapter 106
of the Acts of the First Called Session of the Fortieth Legislature of the State
of Texas, as amended, now shown as Article 1105 B of Vernon' s Texas Civil
Statutes, which act has been adopted as an amendment to and made a part of the
Charter of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and under which law these proceed-
ings are taken and had.

III.
The City Clerk is directed to prepare, sign and file with the County
Clerk of Wichita County, Texas, a notice in accordance with the provisions
of the Act passed at the Fifth Called Session of the Forty—first Legislature
of the State of Texas, as amended, and shown as Chapter 21 of the Acts of
said Session of the Legislature and now shown as Article 1120 A of Vernon's
Texas Civil Statutes.
IV.
The City Engineer has heretofore prepared plans and specifications for
the improvement of the hereinabove described portions of avenues, streets
and public places, and such plans and specifications are submitted to the
City Council for approval and adoption; such plans and specifications be and
the same are hereby approved and adopted as the plans and specifications for
the improvement of the said streets.
V.
The City Manager is hereby directed to advertise for competitive bids
for the making and constructing of said improvements.
VI.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force and effect immediately
from and after its passage.

Notice is hereby given that the governing body of the City of Wichita
Falls, Texas, has ordered and determined it to be necessary that the follow-
ing streets in the City of Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas be improved
and that a portion of the cost of such improvement is to be specially assessed
as a lien upon certain properties abutting thereon, and said portions of
streets in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas as follows:
HARLAN AVENUE: From the north property line
of the Old Iowa Park Highway
to the south property line of
Maurine Street.
CRESCENT From the east property line
STREET: of City View Drive to the west
boundary of Sunset Terrace
