AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING AND ABANDONING A TWENTY-FIVE
(25) FOOT WIDE ALLEY IN BLOCK 155 OF ORIGINAL TOWNSITE, AN
ADDITION TO THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS
WHEREAS, the Planning Board of the City of Wichita Falls has recommended
that a twenty-five (25) foot wide, northwest-southeast alley in Block 155 of
Original Townsite, an addition to the City of Wichita Falls, Texas be closed,
vacated, and abandoned; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas deems it
advisable and in the public interest to close, vacate, and abandon the alley here-
after described.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The twenty-five (25) foot wide alley in Block 155 of Original
Townsite, Wichita Falls, Texas being more specifically described as follows:
BEGINNING at the northwestern corner of Lot 1A, Block 155 of Original
Townsite, said point also being on the south right-of-way of 6th Street;
THENCE south along the westerly lot line of Lot 1A, Block 155 of Original
Townsite three hundred and fifty (350) feet, more or less, to the south-
western corner of said lot, said point also lying in the northern right-
of-way line of 7th Street;
THENCE west along the northern right-of-way line of 7th Street for twenty-
five (25) feet to the southeastern corner of Lot 8A, Block 155 of
Original Townsite;
THENCE north along the easterly lot lines of Lots 8A, 13, and 14 for
three hundred and fifty (350) feet more or less, to the northeastern
corner of Lot 14, Block 155 of Original Townsite, said point also being
in the south right-of-way of 6th Street;
THENCE east along the southerly right-of-way of 6th Street for a distance
of twenty-five (25) feet to the place of beginning;
be and the same is hereby closed, vacated, and abandoned.
SECTION 2. The City of Wichita Falls hereby reserves on the entire area
described in Section 1, a utility easement for the purpose of laying and maintaining
all kind and character of utility lines including water, gas, electric, telephone,
television cable, power lines, and sanitary and storm sewers.
SECTION 3. A provision for a gate to allow for access to the easement
described in Section 2 must be made as required by the Director of Public Utilities.
